This is an opportunity for talented and enthusiastic individuals to join their London studio. 3D Print Technician (PT001) Foster + Partners is leading the way in introducing rapid prototyping as a common modelling tool to aid design development within its practice. Working within the modelshop team, the candidate will be using the latest technologically advanced 3d printers and modelling software. Responsibilities include: processing 3D print requests; receiving and checking CAD data; and ensuring that files are suitable for the constraints of the 3D printer. Daily duties would also include model extraction and post processing of 3D printed models. You will be required to organise, maintain and assist in developing all aspects of the 3D printing facilities. Applicants must have an understanding of CAD/3D modelling software, excellent written and verbal communication skills and understanding of architectural terminology. Previous experience with rapid prototyping technology and good model making skills would be an added advantage. The successful candidate should be able to work as a team member and on their own initiative, be self-motivated and pro-active. The position requires a high degree of responsibility, discretion and sensitivity to confidential material.
