model gardens

If you've seen Model Gardens on UK Style, then you've seen our specially created garden kits, perfect for designing a 3D model of your garden.

4D modelshop were approached by the makers of a new garden makeover show, to be screened on UK Style, called Model Gardens, to supply its model making requirements.

The idea of the program is to take the makeover show into miniature and create models that give garden owners an unprecedented opportunity to do some hands-on design.

4D modelshop supplied the on set model maker, Graham Avis. Graham is 4D modelshop's principal model maker, responsible for creating the constant stream of masters that make up the range of cars at all architectural scales.

He is also responsible for 4D's entire 1:150 (N gauge) range of accessories which are sold in Model Train hobby shops all around the country as Graham Avis Details.

Graham also had a hand in developing the brass etched tree, the most highly detailed scale model tree available today.

His trees have featured of literally thousands of architectural models all around the world, including the models of the Millennium Dome, the new Wembley Stadium and the Eden Project.

Graham is also responsible for any 'specials' that are requested. A typical project would be creating scale models of indigenous trees for a South African architectural model maker.

Some of his finest work has been for the Film Industry. Amongst his credits are various James Bond ventures and nine 300mm trees from the feature film Thomas the Tank Engine (left), each highly detailed for close up camera work.

During the filming of Model Gardens, Graham worked closely on set with Sven Wombwell, the show presenter, the design consultants and the garden owners to create models of each makeover.

Creating a model of the proposed design, just as an architect would for a proposed development, give the best indication of how the result will look and feel. It can be examined from any angle or view point, and changed accordingly.
